Air Curtain: how to define its width and the regulation of the air guiding flap - AirFlow Curtians

air curtain

Air Curtain: The proper air curtain dimensions definition must be made based on the door width. It should not be lower to avoid air gaps which could allow non desired effects such as insects entrance for example.

The Air Flow Curtains are installed in the inner part of the environment and do not have specific side, being symmetric. There is no left or right versions.

In order to keep a good aesthetics, the air curtain should not exceed too much the door width, and in addition it is recommended to take care it is fixed in the center line of the door or the opening .

The proper guiding flap positioning is important, in order to assure the air flow will function as expected to avoid insects and or non-desired smell to get into the environment.

How to regulate the air guiding flap.

This procedure is extremely important in order to guarantee the desired efficiency of the air curtain.

For an efficient air barrier, you must take care of:

Fig1: When it is desired to avoid insects, dust and smell, you must guide the air flow to external ambient.

Note: This procedure should not be used if the ambient has air conditioned, because it would increase the thermal load and, in consequence, the energy usage.

Fig2: Considering that the air curtain is installed in the inner part of an ambient equipped with air conditioned, besides its proper temperature (heating our cooling needed), it is also desired to protect the ambient from insects, dust, smell, etc. Under these conditions the guiding flap must be positioned perpendicular to the ground. (angle of 90 degrees).
